Hi, I’m Tom Murphy, founder of Murphys Plastering, based on the Isle of Wight.

I’ve worked in the construction industry for over 18 years, gaining experience across a wide range of trades including brickwork, groundwork, electrical work, and general building. This gave me a strong understanding of how sites operate and what good workmanship looks like in practice.

Over time, I developed a strong interest in plastering and began focusing on learning the trade properly through hands-on experience, self-study, and continuous practice on site.

Plastering became the trade I wanted to specialise in.

I later went on to complete a Level 2 Diploma in Plastering in 2025, covering:

Internal plastering

Floor screeding

Drylining (including dot and dab plasterboarding methods)

Sand and cement rendering

Traditional lime rendering

With a combination of site experience, self-teaching, and formal training, I established Murphys Plastering to provide reliable internal and external plastering services across the Isle of Wight.

I work with homeowners, landlords, first-time buyers, and local contractors, completing every job personally to ensure consistency and accountability.

Murphys Plastering is built on graft, honesty, and pride in workmanship. The aim is simple — to deliver a clean, durable finish on every project and take responsibility for the work carried out.
